Hi I’m Michael, I’m 25 and live in the northern suburbs of Melbourne with my identical twin brother Chris, mum and dad Andrew and Dora and little brother chris. 

I was diagnosed in 2002 at the age of 5 with a Pilocytic Astrocytoma of the brain stem. I have undergone multiple brain surgeries including the placement of a shunt, chemotherapy, radiotherapy. 

I entered Palliative Care in 2021 after my last Chemotherapy regime..

Outside of the hospital I try to keep myself very busy by volunteering for the VICSES, St John Ambulance and the Make-a-Wish foundation. 

I am in my final semester of the diploma of nursing study at holmesglen institute and awaiting final placement next month. 

I have a massive interest in the V8 supercars and am the number 1# ticket holder for Tickford racing where I travel the country assisting the team in any way possible. 

I also enjoy spending time with my NDIS support workers, going for long walks and tenpin bowling.
